8.1.09 - The Malacca Sultanate (1402–1511)

And the story went that a merchant Mani Purindam arrived with seven ships from India. He seek audience with the Sultan, bearing gifts. The ruler was impressed by his good conducts that later he was bestowed the rank of minister.
Mani Purindam was later married to Seri Nara's (Treasurer) daughter Tun Ratna Sandari and the couple had two children; a son Tun Ali and a daughter Tun Wati. When Tun Wati came of age, she was married to the Sultan and bore him a son, Raja Kassim.
Later the Sultan married the daughter of Raja Rekan who bore him a son Raja Ibrahim, and was made regent (as the latter was from royal blood). Raja Rekan then made Malacca's court like his own, his appearances be accompanied by gong and court music. The people discreetly despised Raja Ibrahim and Raja Rekan and supported Raja Kassim.
